History & Experience

By the time Don Kalis purchased Garwood Metal Company in 1973, he had already been working in the metal business for 20 years. Through this experience he saw a need for precision metal parts and was able to acquire what would become an extraordinary company. Garwood metal was one of the first Amada turret machine facilities on the East Coast, and has since celebrated over 50 years of success through hard work, determination, innovation, and most importantly, the ability to create and sustain long lasting relationships that work.

Now on its 3rd generation, the Kalis family has made continuous improvements to the organization, including major investments in technology and equipment. Garwood Metal has remained competitive throughout the years due to its founders’ ideal of providing customers with a quality product, at a competitive price, in a timely fashion.
